New Art Works for Packing Design

I did not publish any posts for so long time because my husband Mike has a business trip to China for three (!!!) weeks. Then I get  a job and after that was ill and was taken to a hospital. It is nothing dangerous. Perhaps, due so many things that falling on my had. Today I will paste some pictures from packing design work. There are Angels, Goblins, Trolls. Watercolor sketches

There are some sketches from my first scholarship year at the All-Russian University of Cinematography (VGIK) Moscow. These girls are my classmates. They are from Feature Film workshop - opposite to me, as I am from the Animation workshop (workshop of Master Stanislav Sokolov). At the first year of study we must to create a lot of sketches of people, animals, architect, interior and etc.
It is developing of a good faultless eye. At the open air at summer you had to paint a lot of number painting of landscapes. Then, at the very beginning of academic year you must show all your summer work.

There are series of pictures “Olympic Games” with different animals. I found it funny to made sportsman of the animals. That topic had to be infinite. You may start from any kind of sports or any kind of animal, fish, bird, insect, etc. I used my favorite method monotype with lien, water colors, oil. The oil colors I applied are only for typing then I paint the pictures. Sometimes I use tempera to finish the work. These artworks allowed me to be accepted by the Union of Artist (Moscow). Also there are some graphic works about Canada tales. I will post it next time.

Let it snow...

 

Kostya and Mom 2010

Here we (Kostia and I) look. Kostya is armed with a shovel and set on the sled. Sometimes we got stuck in the bare ground because off yard cleaners doing their job so fast as they could – just do not allow the snow to stay on the ground a second. But the Commander doesn’t care that trifle. He is shouting and waving his shovel and demanding to continue the journey. It is very good for a walking by sled on a SNOW. If snow is over you then do the big eyes and red face and go forward!

Some cats.

All my childhood I was fond of cats, all cats. Cats were everywhere. At the very beginning of my art career I drew cats every time as I remember myself. When I was about 13, my love to cats was gone. But cats (cat’s topic) have a big share in my creative work. Prohor, our last cat, was red, impudent, sly, many-sided personality. He has a life full of love adventures that is why it passed in fights.

This is a little Bee from the “Magic Garden” animation film. Unfortunately,  I do not have a final copy of the film, but work material only. The film was made by resurfacing method. Many animated films were made by this technique. There is a Bug for earphone packing on the second picture. He is so funny like a Pop-star! They are so different but both of them are bugs!

Lizaveta

Here is my friend Lizaveta(Elizabeth). She looks very cool at her outfit. In the late nineties we got together for clubbing, laying on the beach, drinking coffee or bear in the cafes of Sochi. I will post more Liza`s portraits and write more stories about her. During my art college studies I accumulated a great number of artworks of my regular model. I think there will be a need to paste several portraits of Liza for showing you different methods and materials. I suppose it will be more convenient and easy to understand when different methods of the drawing are used with the same model.

This watercolor picture is like an old-fashioned card. It is bleach in warm colours. Some artists tint the paper especially for get it older.

Jugs whithout whitewash

This painting was created in 1997. I took gesso ground wooden board and paint it in several steps. The first layer is monochrome. The last one is colored. It painted thin layer wash. That`s why the first layer is turned visible. This method can be used if you work oil paint or tempera+oil, at the beginning you may use tempera and when it dries out you can continue with oil paint. This method does not require any white lead because the fare gesso ground is used.

Drawings of my Studio (actually mine only) are created in diverse ways and reasons, as they belong to different times and different attitudes.
